If at any time you find yourselves with ICT time and are short on ideas, my treasure hunt should fill a lesson and is also quite good fun. It covers 3 attainment targets; Shape and Space, Data Handling, Number and Algebra and there is a little bit about the history of mathematics and some mental arithmetic too. It is suitable for Years 6, 7 and 8. You will be able to tell if the pupils have actually visited the sites because it is quite time consuming and they are supposed to record their answers as they go along. Several questions need to be worked out and the children can show you their working if you are in doubt. I hope you and the pupils enjoy it - Good luck!
